Building Integrated Solar
This 259kW school project represents the first time that solar has ever been built into the architectural planning of a new-school construction in the LAUSD school system. The facility was built by Hensel Phelps, subject to Department of State Architecture requirements.
The solar asset consisted of Sanyo (now Panasonic) Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin Layer (HIT), high-efficiency solar cells. Solar was installed on roof-mounted architectural racks, as solar sky-lights and on a vertical wall-mount immediately over the front entrance to demonstrate the district's commitment to clean energy.
